Abortion
It would be hard to find a more emotional and controversial issue than abortion. The stakes are high, because the debate raises questions as essential as humanness and freedom. The conversation is personal, because some women have faced the wrenching decision in their own lives, and others are alive because of someone else’s decision. This matter has always produced tension and conflict, and the recent change in the composition of the U.S. Supreme Court has pushed it right back into front page headlines. It’s the kind of thing church folk should talk and listen about together.

Courageous Conversations offer one of the only opportunities available for Americans to talk through controversial political issues civilly. We tend to stay away from one another, segregating more than we have since the Civil War, and it even looks a bit like war between left and right these days. Join us and become part of the solution!
