Reading the Gospel of Luke with Time
with Dr. Eric Barreto
12 pm | Fellowship Hall rm 2
Lunch followed by lecture
As the Gospel of Luke begins to weave a story about Jesus, there is a clock ticking in the background. As promises about Jesus’ resurrection and assurances of his return are narrated, what can we learn about the world God is shaping around us? So often, we are tempted to imagine Christian timekeeping as primarily about the end of the world as we know it. But what if Luke is more interested in our everyday practices of keeping time as we live and die, rejoice and grieve? In short, the Gospel of Luke helps us tell what time it is in a way that is meaningful and faithful, especially in a moment of intersecting crises. Join Dr. Eric Barreto, the Frederick & Margaret L. Weyerhaeuser Associate Professor of New Testament at Princeton Theological Seminary, for this special lecture for our Pinnacle community.

ENTERING THE DESERT
Wednesday, Feb. 25
Anthony the Great & Syncletica of Alexandria
Solitude, simplicity, and the search for God.
During Lent, we are invited to slow down, listen deeply, and rediscover what truly matters. Join us every Wednesday evening during Lent as we explore the spiritual wisdom of one Desert Father and one Desert Mother each week. Through brief readings, reflection, and conversation, we’ll consider how their voices can guide us through our own modern deserts - toward lives of greater compassion, patience, and trust in God.
