The Psalms have served people of faith for over two millennia not only as hymns to God, but as moments of praise that teach us who God is. In the Psalms, theology is everywhere! This means that through the psalmist's voice we learn that God is faithful, just, trustworthy, the master creator, the sovereign of sovereigns, the lawgiver, the peacemaker, and the bringer of redemption and restoration. And God is the Good Shepherd. The Psalms call us to act, do, and be in a way that reflects who God is on our behalf. The Psalms are ongoing acts of theology that ire sung, prayed, and spoken in moments of doubt and faith, lamenting and rejoicing, and private and public communion with God who works even today through these ancients hymns.
