Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5–7)
"Blessed are the meek." "Turn the other cheek." "Seek ye first the Kingdom of God." "Judge not, lest ye be judged.” and "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” These five classic teachings of Jesus cover very different parts of life, but have one significant thing in common: they all appear in Jesus’ "Sermon on the Mount.” These three chapters of the Gospel according to Matthew mapped Gandhi’s reform efforts in India, guided Martin Luther King, Jr.’s path toward the American Civil Rights movement, and has brought countless others a challenging, divinely-directed way forward in their lives.
So what does it mean now? Join Drs. Avram and Hilton as Project Bible kicks off 2018 by asking that crucial question together with one eye on the text and the other on the world around us.
