Project: BIBLE

Sanctuary Rehearsal Hall
with Dr. Allen Hilton

Big Tent Bible

The people who decided what books would become the Holy Bible could have sorted for consistency, but they did not. They could have eliminated disagreement or tension by having one Gospel or choosing between Paul and James, but they did not. They had the option to build a book that did not risk tension and contradiction, but they did not. Instead, they hosted a conversation between wise people with different views of God and faithful living. In this session, Dr. Hilton will explore the multiformity of scripture and the advantage it gives us as we hope to live faithfully in community today.
