Spirituality and the Opioid Epidemic

Dr. Rick Isenberg, MD, CSAT will examine the roots of opioid addiction and the toll it takes on the individual, family, and community. He will explore the role of spirituality in recovery, focusing on the importance of shame reduction, the search for meaning, reestablishment of self-esteem, and emotional regulation. He will offer suggestions for what individuals and families can do.

The Faith and Science Roundtable meets on the “First Thursday” of each month to discuss issues at the interface between faith and science in a respectful environment where it is ok to be a novice, an expert or somewhere in between. All who are interested in the conversation, including youth, are welcome to attend.
